Padres Lose in Twelve

by @ 6:18 am. Filed under 2007 Padres

A pretty solid start by David Wells went to waste last night as the Padres hitters couldn’t put much together. Wells gave up just two runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings of work.  Mike Thompson took the loss and he gave up three runs in the twelfth.  Give some credit to the other relievers though as four of them combined to shutout the Diamondbacks.

Brian Giles finished with four hits and a run in the 5-2 loss.  Mike Cameron and Khalil Greene drove a run a piece for the only two runs of the game.

This afternoon is the finale.  Jake Peavy will go for win number three as he faces Livan Hernandez, who’s also had a pretty solid start.  I like our chances in this one.
