Padres Come From Behind to Beat Giants

by @ 5:19 am. Filed under 2007 Padres

Matt Cain looked pretty sharp for the Giants but the Padres finally got to him in the fifth inning with homeruns by Khalil Greene and Marcus Giles.  The Giants tied the game back up but the in the top of the eighth, Adrian Gonzalez went yard for a two run shot to give the Padres the runs they’d need.

Chris Young had a solid start.  He gave up three runs on six hits and three walk with four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of work.  Trevor Hoffman picked up the save with a perfect ninth.

The Padres can finish up the sweep tonight.  Clay Hensley gets the start and he’ll face Matt Morris.
