Now this is what we came to expect from Greg Maddux. After a rough first start, he threw six shutout innings last night as the Padres won their sixth game of the season. He gave up six hits and he struck out six in the nice start.
Marcus Giles had a good game at the plate. He went two for three with a run and an RBI in the 4-0 win. The team is off today and then they’ll head to Los Angeles for a three game series against the Dodgers, who sit dead even with the Padres at 6-3. The winner of the series will probably right there in first place when it’s all said as done as both teams are just a half game back of the Diamondbacks.
