Greg Maddux Hit Hard in Padres Debut

by @ 5:45 am. Filed under 2007 Padres

Greg Maddux was knocked around by the Rockies last night in a 4-3 loss.  The future Hall of Famer gave up four runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.  Give some props to the pen though because Heath Bell and Mike Thompson held the Rockies to one hit in 3 2/3 shutout innings to at least the hitters a chance to mount a comeback.

Terrmel Sledge went two for three with a solo homerun while Khalil Greene went three for four with a homerun and two RBIs in the loss.  David Wells gets the start tonight and it’d be nice if we could even this series up.
