Clay Hensley had his second straight rough start in a 6-5 loss to the Giants. He gave up six runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in just 4 1/3 innings.
The Padres scored two late runs in the ninth and tried to come back but the deficit was just too great. Adrian Gonzalez provided the bulk of the offense with two homeruns and for RBIs. Brian Giles had two hits and two runs in the loss.
The rubber game is tonight as Greg Maddux will hopefully bounce back from a rough Padres debut. Then they get a day off before heading to Los Angeles for a tough three game series.
