Clay Hensley Hit Hard in First Padres Loss

by @ 4:39 am. Filed under 2007 Padres

The Padres lost their first game of the season last night.  They outhit the Giants 10-8 but only pushed across three runs as Clay Hensley was knocked around.  He gave up five runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Josh Bard singled twice and drove in two while Khalil Greene had two hits and a run.  Hensley even tried helping out his own cause with a single and an RBI.

Greg Maddux makes his Padres debut tonight as the Rockies roll into San Diego.  I like the pitching matchups in this series and would be disappointed if we didnt take at least two of three.
