Chris Young had a rough time yesterday on the national scene as the league celebrated Jackie Robinson day. Young was roughed up for five runs on seven hits and five walks (he even walked Randy Wolf twice) and he dropped to 1-1 on the season.
Jose Cruz, Jr. hit a solo homerun as the Padres never really got the bats going in this one. He was also the only Padre who finished with two hits.
The Padres drop to third and they’re a game back of the Dodgers and a game and a half back of the D-Backs. Next up is a two game set against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Clay Hensley will try to bounce back from a rough start as he gets the start tonight.
